Les procédés de mise en forme par enlèvement de matière introduisent, lors de la formation du copeau, des phénomènes complexes, relatifs à des domaines aussi variés que la mécanique du solide déformable, la thermique, la corrosion, etc qui rendent difficile la maîtrise des paramètres énergétiques. Des mesures réalisées à l'aide d'un dynamomètre à six composantes permettent de mieux appréhender ces phénomènes. En effet, ce dynamomètre permet de mesurer l'ensemble des actions mécaniques transmises par la liaison mécanique entre la matière usinée (copeau et pièce) et l'outil de coupe. Les mesures révèlent alors la présence de moments, à la pointe de l'outil, non évalués par les modèles de coupe classiques. Une première modélisation tridimensionnelle de la coupe intégrant cette notion de moment et basée sur la théorie des couples de contraintes a été adoptée en 1995, mais elle ne semblait pas, à posteriori, être complètement adaptée aux phénomènes rencontrés lors de la coupe. En effet, des observations poussées des déformations dans le copeau montrent qu'elles ont une évolution non linéaire qui conduisent à l'utilisation de la notion de gradient de contraintes. Ce travail propose donc l'utilisation d'une théorie plus adaptée aux phénomènes présents en usinage. L'objectif principal est alors de développer la théorie du second gradient pour l'application usinage et de déterminer de nouvelles formes de lois de comportement. Pour valider les travaux, des expérimentations sont développées afin de reproduire les déformations de cisaillement générées par un chargement de type ±stick and slip[alpha] proches de la sollicitation rencontrée dans le cisaillement secondaire lors de la coupe. L'analyse des résultats démontre la pertinence de l'utilisation de cette théorie dans la modélisation

This thesis is focused on 3D thermomechanical modeling in milling configuration. In order to determine, for each insert orientation and each tool angular position, the complete actions torsor (forces and moments) three parts have been developed in this work.Based on the slip lines in the three cutting areas, an orthogonal cutting model was developed. The tool edge radius is built in modeling and model results are sensitive to this parameter. The model was validated by comparison with experimental tests.For two types of insert, with straight and round edge, the kinematic study along the cutting edge allowed to determine the instantaneous kinematic torsor at each point. This part has defined a new cutting velocity component dependent of tool angular position. The inclination of the edge generates a parallel velocity to the cutting edge (perpendicular to the cutting plane in orthogonal configuration) that participates in the kinematic behavior of the material in the primary and secondary shear zones.A 3D solid modeling in the primary and secondary cutting zones helped to define the cartography of strain and strain rate. This approach was based on kinematic data and appropriate boundary conditions. The gradients of stresses and velocities are the source of the appearance of the cutting moments

The optimization of the cutting parameters in high-speed machining requires the consideration of the machining errors in the modeling of the cutting forces and the surface topography. Therefore, the present study deals with the analysis of the effect of cutting parameters and machining errors on the surface topography of milled surfaces with a ball-end mill. The tool geometry was modeled taking into account all the machining errors such as runout, bending, vibrations and wear. Then, the Cutter Workpiece Engagement region 'CWE ', the cutting width and the uncut chip thickness were modeled taking into account the trace of the previous tooth. Subsequently, thermomechanical modeling of cutting forces in the milling process with a ball-end tool is made considering these errors. Finally, an analysis of the topography according to all these parameters and machining errors was carried out based on experimental validation

Due to the wide variety of fabrics, all with different mechanical characteristics, there are few studies dealing with the question of cutting fabrics.In this thesis, we model the multi-ply cutting process using a reciprocating knife in an industrial context.In this study, a textile cutting machine is instrumented with different sensors, to measure the influence of cutting forces on the quality of the resulting profiles. Using this equipment, cutting forces can be analyzed experimentally while the fabric is being cut along a straight line.Next, a model of the physical phenomena of these forces is proposed, taking different parameters into account such as the geometry of the knife, the properties of the material being cut and the parameters of the cut
