2 editions published in 2012 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This work presents a new approach based on the study of the stability of motion of continuous, multivariable, nonlinear systems. It relies on the use of the second Lyapunov method for computing a control law trajectory tracking of a process whose evolution is described by the equation of state. This control is made from accessible information about the process and its desired evolution. This approach is studied in the case where the command is not defined. To investigate the robustness of this control, we present an approach based on the stability of nonlinear systems by calculating the overvaluing systems. This approach is applied to the systems describing the error between the actual perturbed system with significant inaccuracies and / or uncertainties and the theoretical model

This thesis is dedicated to the interdisciplinary area of Intelligent Transportation Systems and Virtual Reality technologies. It focuses on the improvement of intelligent vehicles control strategies by considering the natural environment impacts as well as the visualization, the verification and performance analysis of proposed control algorithms on the proposed Intelligent Vehicles Virtual Reality (IVVR) platform. The IVVR platform includes three subsystems: Vehicle Intelligent Control Subsystem, Visualization Subsystem and Virtual Wireless Subsystem. For realizing the control strategy simulation and performance analysis under complex natural environment conditions, Synthetic Natural Environment has been modeled and simulated in this IVVR platform. Therefore, experiments of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) or Cooperative ACC system equipped traffic are executed and show that normal ACC/CACC system fails to keep a safe inter-vehicle space when the natural environment condition is variable or adverse especially in stiff conditions. For solving this problem, we propose a new control algorithm called NECACC (Natural Environment based CACC) for longitudinal vehicle control in maintaining a safe inter-vehicle distance as well as guaranteeing an appropriate traffic capacity even under complex environmental conditions. This algorithm is then simulated and verified in IVVR platform as a “proof of concept”. Finally, some virtual traffic demonstrations performing common traffic maneuvers are presented in IVVR platform under various environmental conditions. The vehicle platoon is controlled by proposed integrated control system and the safety can be ensured all the time

2 editions published in 2009 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This Thesis deals with the analysis and the synthesis of dynamic large scale continuous systems depending on the choice of the system description.Stability and stabilisability proposed studies are based on the use of vector norms as an aggregation function and of the practical Borne-Gentina criterion, associated to the description of the system by instantaneous characteristic matrix in arrow form.Practical stability conditions, easy to use, are obtained for both dynamic nonlinear continuous single input single output systems and multiple inputs multiple outputs ones, formulated by means of theorems and corollaries. These obtained results for thin arrow form, are generalized to the case of matrices, which can be putted under thin generalized arrow form or thick arrow form. The proposed stability and stabilisability criteria are afterwards, successfully, exploited to formulate new sufficient conditions, guaranteeing the synchronization, the anti-synchronization and the hybrid synchronization properties, for chaotic master-slave systems, having an increasing interest throughout their application in the secure communication field

2 editions published in 2009 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

2 editions published in 2010 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The work presented in this memory concerns the control reconfiguration of dynamical systems with variation of operating modes in order to ensure the desired performances. For the control of dynamic systems, two approaches of accommodation have been proposed. The passive approach presents a controller with fixed parameters that doesn't ensure the same performance for different operating modes and an active approach in which the controller settings can be updated according to the variation of the detected operating mode. Our work has therefore focused on this second approach based on multi-models system representation. The modelling errors corresponding to the variations of operating conditions are detected in this case by detection and localization algorithm, consequently, a reconfiguration strategy based on flatness-based switching control is proposed. This approach guarantees the control and the tracking of a reference trajectory. In fact, we have synthesised a discrete flatness-based multi-controllers associated for each operating model obtained from different operating points. Detection of operating modes is done by a residual generation by using Luenberger observers which gains are calculated using the LMI tool. Study of the stability as well as the use of anti-windup devices related to switching between controllers; have been considered in the proposed approach

The purpose of our works is the implementation of methodologies for the resolution of the agro-food industry scheduling problem. Three new approaches based on genetic algorithms are proposed to solve multi-objectives scheduling problems: sequential genetic algorithms (SGA), parallel genetic algorithms (PGA) and parallel sequential genetic algorithms (PSGA). Two high-level hybrid algorithms, SH_GA/TS et SH_GA/SA, are also proposed. The purpose in this hybridization is to benefit the exploration of the solution space by a population of individuals with the exploitation of solutions through a smart search of the local search algorithm

Analyse de Performances de Régulateurs de Vitesse Adaptatifs Coopératifs by Qi Sun( )

1 edition published in 2016 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

This PhD thesis is dedicated to the performance analysis of Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control (CACC) system for intelligent vehicle platoon with the main aims of alleviating traffic congestion and improving traffic safety. At first, the Constant Time Headway (CTH) spacing policy for vehicle platoon is introduced. Based on this spacing policy, a novel decentralized Two-Vehicle-Ahead CACC (TVACACC) system is proposed, in which the desired acceleration of two front vehicles is taken into account. Then the string stability of the proposed system is theoretically analyzed. It is shown that by using the multiple wireless communication among vehicles, a better string stability is obtained compared to the conventional system. Vehicle platoon in Stop-and-Go scenario is simulated with both normal and degraded communication.Secondly, a graceful degradation technique for CACC was presented, as an alternative fallback strategy when wireless communication is lost or badly degraded. The proposed strategy, which is referred to DTVACACC, uses Kalman filter to estimate the preceding vehicle's current acceleration as a replacement of the desired acceleration. It is shown that the performance is maintained at a much higher level. Finally, a Reinforcement Learning (RL) approach of CACC system is proposed. The policy-gradient algorithm is introduced to achieve the longitudinal control. Then simulation has shown that this new RL approach results in efficient performance for CACC

Road traffic causes many adverse effects, including pollution, insecurity and congestion. Most of the developedmethods for regulation of urban traffic at crossroads, seeking to reduce wait times and lengths of queues. Thesemethods are mainly set objective optimization fire cycles over a finite horizon. To describe the composition of traffic, we opted for a traffic modeling by hybrid Petri nets, representingsimultaneously two complementary levels of representation: the continuing evolution of queues and discreetchanging traffic lights. These two levels are respectively articulated about Petri nets variable speed and discretetimed Petri nets.We chose, as well, for a new strategy to solve the problem of urban traffic control intervening in an appropriatemanner to the level of the signal lights. We sought to avoid first, congestion and the super saturation of queues, which must not exceed the optimum capacity of the intersection of routes studied and, second, to reduce theevacuation time of vehicles at the crossroads and especially waiting times for drivers. In this sense, a first algorithm is developed to calculate the lengths of queues, using a modeling simplificationapproach to a junction. To optimize the average waiting time and the total evacuation time are considered andapplied successfully by a heuristic control lights and a fixed control strategy and floating lights, following thedetermination of the duration of corresponding green light to the situation in real time intersectionWe plan to generalize the results of our work exploiting RDPH model to complex intersections for real situations of acrossroads network

2 editions published in 2013 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

1 edition published in 2014 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

In this Ph. D., we will present firstly a single robot exploration method, then a decentralized cooperative exploration strategy for a team of mobile robots equipped with a range finders. A two dimensional map of the explored area is built in the form of a pixel figure. This is expanded by the robots by using a randomized local planner that authomatically realizes a decision between information gain and navigation cost. In our work, the map is reconstructed using a least-mean square method to reduce the errors of the sensor data. In dividing the overall task into subtasks, the intelligent controller allows reducing the robots task complexity. But the fusion of different behaviors with different objectives may cause contradiction in the procedure and alter the stability of the system. Therefore, the issue of behavior coordination mechanisms is crucial in order to realize the non-collision safety-ensured movements. A method integrated by behavior coordination and command fusion is proposed. A new approach with five basic behaviors for mobile robot navigation is discussed.Player/ Stage is an open-source software project for research in robotics and sensor systems. Its components include the Player network server and the Stage robot platform simulators providing a hardware abstraction layer to several popular robot platforms. Player is one of the most popular robot interfaces in research. We mainly use Player/Stage simulation to test our algorithms in mono-agent/multi-agent exploration, map reconstruction and robot navigation. Obtained results show that the proposed approaches are effective and can be applied in real robots

1 edition published in 2011 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

2 editions published in 2013 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

In signal processing literature, noise's sources are often assumed to be Gaussian. However, in many fields the conventional Gaussian noise assumption is inadequate and can lead to the loss of resolution and/or accuracy. This is particularly the case of noise that exhibits impulsive nature. The latter is found in several areas, especially telecommunications. $\alpha$-stable distributions are suitable for modeling this type of noise. In this context, the main focus of this thesis is to propose novel methods for the joint estimation of the state and the noise in impulsive environments. Inference is performed within a Bayesian framework using sequential Monte Carlo methods. First, this issue has been addressed within an OFDM transmission link assuming a symmetric alpha-stable model for channel distortions. For this purpose, a particle filter is proposed to include the joint estimation of the transmitted OFDM symbols and the noise parameters. Then, this problem has been tackled in the more general context of nonlinear dynamic systems. A flexible Bayesian nonparametric model based on Dirichlet Process Mixtures is introduced to model the alpha-stable noise. Moreover, sequential Monte Carlo filters based on efficient importance densities are implemented to perform the joint estimation of the state and the unknown measurement noise density
