Kerouac : beat painting by Jack Kerouac( Book )

4 editions published in 2018 in English and held by 76 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Through a body of works previously unpublished in Italy, this book shines a new light on the pictorial and graphic activity of one of the great literary icons of the twentieth century, the American writer Jack Kerouac, father of the Beat Generation. A comparison of his literary and artistic production reveals the labyrinthine creative process that allowed his visionary perception of reality to be expressed through the media of drawing and painting as well as in writing, music, poetry and cinema. His visual arts production, undertaken in part thanks to a genuine period of "training," was informed not only by his relationship to the traditions of American visual culture and to other authors of the Beat movement (from Allen Ginsberg to William S. Burroughs), but also by his relationship with masters of Informal and New York School painting, whom he began frequenting in the mid-1950s. This monograph is divided into sections that interweave Kerouac's life and poetics with the many exceptional works presented here. Of particular interest are the author's wide-ranging references - from Proust to Breton, from portraits of famous people such as Joan Crawford, Truman Capote, Dody Muller and Cardinal Montini, to visions based on a religious syncretism incorporating Buddhism and Catholicism, to Beat culture and its representatives like Robert Frank and WIlliam S. Burroughs, and finally to Abstract Expressionism."-- Back cover

Kerouac beat painting by Museo arte Gallarate( Book )

4 editions published in 2017 in Italian and held by 24 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The land seen from the sea( Book )

4 editions published in 2012 in English and held by 14 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"This book produced for the exhibition "The Land Seen from the Sea" held at the Museo d'Arte Contemporanea di Villa Croce in Genoa in 2012 is a collection of notes, the tale of a journey that roamed through various regions of Europe with the goal of getting a perspective on the state of art, the practice of travel and the perception of distance in specific geographical areas. The project aimed at exploring contemporary artistic practice in the small states of Europe and in certain geocultural micro-areas: San Marino, Luxembourg and Iceland, as well as Milan, Malta and Genoa, were some of the stops along the way, in an initiative that has attempted to focus, in particular, on the aesthetic question of the experience of travel"--http://www.moussepublishing.com/products-page/product/the-land-seen-from-the-sea/
