Biography of a frequent Mormon missionary, Feramorz Little (1820-1887). He was the son of James Little and Susan Young (daugher of John Young, Sr.), and the family became Mormon converts after the father had died. Feramorz married Fannie M. Decker in Nauvoo, Illinois. He served as a missionary in the United States, and later (in 1872) served on the second mission to Palestine. He also served as the Mayor of Salt Lake City between 1876 and 1882

Jacob Hamblin was born at Salem, Ohio, in 1819. He migrated with his family to Geauga County, Ohio, as an infant; and to Spring Prairie, Wisconsin, in 1836. He married Lucinda Taylor in 1839. They joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1842 and migrated to Nauvoo, Illinois, and later west with the Mormon pioneers, arriving in Utah in 1850. He became a missionary to the Indians, their trusted friend; and an explorer. His family lived in Toole, and Santa Clara, Utah; Arizona, and New Mexico. [He died at Pleasanton, New Mexico.] The work chiefly tells of his experiences with the Indians, their customs, beliefs, etc

Thomas Little was born in Scotland in 1740. His family immigrated to Ireland because of religious persecution. In Ireland, Thomas married Mary Campbell and five of their eight children were born there. The family immigrated to America, settling in Virginia, where the last three children were born. After a number of years in Virginia, the family moved to Mercer County, Kentucky. Most of the children settled in Mercer County, one remained in Virginia, and one moved to Boone County, Missouri. Thomas Little, his wife, and youngest son, Alexander, moved to Franklin County, Kentucky, where Thomas died 5 Dec. 1814. Alexander Little married Rachel Robinson, and had twelve children. The family moved to Indiana. Alexander Little was a judge, a merchant, and served in the state senate. He died in 1892 in Plainfield, Indiana

Typewritten and handwritten biographies of William Rufus Rogers Stowell. One item was "written under his supervision by James Little, Colonia Juarez, 1893." Many of the passages of this manuscript quote Stowell verbatim. Also included are typed excerpts from the biography and photocopies of a handwritten account of Stowell's death by his grandson, Earl Stowell. William Stowell was a convert to the Mormon Church. He lived in Nauvoo, Illinois, migrated to Utah in 1852, served in the Utah Militia during the Utah Expedition, served on missions for the Mormon Church, and went to Mexico to avoid prosecution for polygamy
