2 editions published in 2012 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

2 editions published in 2007 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This research focuses on advertising language. Spreading the advertising message can be accomplished by using several types of media: the written press, outdoor advertisements, television, cinema, as well as the Internet. This approach is semiotic, an approach which enables us to understand advertising language internal process and to create a connection between the nature of signs, their combination rules, and their production of meaning. The analysis of several campaigns reveals a coherent system, combining different dimensions: verbal, para-verbal and non-verbal, which all work together to give birth to the advertising message. Moreover, a pragmatic component reveals what discursive mechanisms are used in order to express a particular intention of communication. Nowadays, there is no longer a separation between language and culture; this research proposes an epistemological theory based on a concept that is called "facts of language-culture" (FLC). FLC suggests the perception, the comprehension, and the exact interpretation of the effect achieved through the communicative intentions, through enunciation as well as through the actualization of language in discourse. Instead of proposing a simple description of advertising language, it is a matter of establishing an adequate method of analysis focusing on didactics and linguistics in order to show the pertinence of diverse linguistic approaches to the didactics of foreign languages. Focusing on didactics of Français Langue Etrangère et Seconde (FLES), our thesis aims finally at establishing a coherent method applicable to all advertising campaigns with the purpose of applying it in the process of teaching a new language

2 editions published in 2011 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

1 edition published in 2013 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

In this work, a first volume includes a linguistic component involving a textometric analysis of Jules Verne's writings that provides an overview of his work from a statistical perspective; this analysis has allowed us to enhance our vision of his discourse. Taking advantage of new possibilities offered by recent technologies, we have performed a detailed study of nearly all of the corpus of Verne. The second volume explores the influence of Freemasonry on Verne's work. This volume relates to new trends that have been explored in recent years, providing an additional element that has permitted a new interpretation of the writer. This body of literary criticism has examined Jules Verne under a different light, viewing his work as being influenced by esotericism, a perspective significantly removed from the traditional conception of his writings. It is important to emphasize that a philosophical component, close to certain secret societies such as Freemasonry, permeates the work of Verne and deserves further study

1 edition published in 2013 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

This thesis proposes to study two distinct phonological processes that are reducing unstressed vowels to schwa found in some Italian dialects and Raddoppiamento Fonosintattico induced stress RF now. It seems that the existence of these two phenomena (RF-induced by stress and vowel reduction) is in complementary distribution since the analysis process (no-) vowel reduction coratin would highlight the structural motivation of the inconsistency. This thesis will update and verify the prediction with diatopic data. Indeed, coratin has a constraint that the vowels are carried unreduced making RF triggered by stress incompatible with reducing localized dialects located in the central-southern part of the peninsula
Le français à Lubumbashi : usages et représentations by Irène Ngoie Kyungu Kiboko( Book )

in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

The town of Lubumbashi lives a complex situation characterized by the coexistence of numerous languages sharing the same linguistic market: the ethnic language with the identity vocation and with limited usage, national language with a vehicular function and the official French language spoken by a reduced number of city-dwellers. In the context of multilinguism, it is interesting to know the value of each language beside its speakers. In the field we observe an opposition between the speakers and non-French-speakers and French- speakers, and among the latter between educated speakers and speakers having learnt French "on the Job training". In a context of "diglossy," the languages generate the contrasted representations which interfere practically on their effective practice. Our research aims at describing at the same time the usages and the linguistic attitudes which are correlated with them. Therefore, we require diverse models, at the same time the model labovien adapted to the urban environment to evaluate quantitatively the degree of linguistic security/insecurity, and the one of variationism developing more quantitative analyses. Concerning the methodology of investigation, our sample population has been constituted from different variables or classificatory features. The technique of the questionnaire (opened and closed questions) has invited pupils to provide their practice and their linguistic representations. The conversations of the type semi-conducted are the dispositive that we use towards the investigations of adults in order to get their linguistic representations

1 edition published in 2013 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

The aim of this thesis was to study the effects of emotions, through the induction of an emotional state, on the writing processes, spelling performances and working memory capacities in children in school context. More specifically, in relation to the model developed by Ellis and Ashbrook (Resource Allocation Model of Cognitive Interference, 1988) and subsequently modified by Ellis and Moore (1999), the thesis that the cognitive resources available could vary depending on the emotional state of the participant was supported. The influence of emotions (positive, negative and neutral) was tested on the exercise of writing text, dictation and on phonological working memory, in 4th and 5th graders. The results showed that negative emotions were responsible for variations in the length of text and the use of vocabulary in the writing processes (experiment 1), and also of a decrease in performances in phonological working memory (Experiment 3). In contrast, the induction of a positive or negative emotion was responsible for a disturbance in terms of orthographic processes resulting in an increase in the number of spelling errors during dictation (experiment 2 ). In conclusion, it was showed that emotions could have a disruptive effect on some complex cognitive processes in children. In addition, this work also allowed questioning the effect of school activities on the affective states in 3rd and 5th graders (experiment 4). It has been shown that the affective states varies greatly according to the age of children and activity practiced (listening to a text and dictation), but also that the initial affective states were correlated with performances in dictation

1 edition published in 2013 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

This thesis examines the influence of some characteristics of the agreement target on the performances of novice and expert writers in number agreement via different tasks. A first series of experiments studies the impact of the presence of morpho-phonological and conceptual information carried by the verb. Results show that from the 5th grade, aphonologically distinct verbal ending between singular and plural improves agreement processing. The presence of a conceptual information on the verb leads however participants from the 4th grade to commit more agreement errors. The processing of a verb whose action is necessarily accomplished by several agents seems to create disturbances during theagreement. Morpho- phonological and conceptual information also influence the duration of production of dictated sentences and the number of agreement errors correctly detected in revision tasks. A second series of experiments analyzes the impact of cognitive cost incurred by the complexity of the management of lexical spelling on the treatment of agreement, by manipulating lexical frequency and orthographic consistency. The effect of these variables on the errors committed by children suggests that the probability of agreement in number varies with frequency (lexical factor) and consistency (sub- lexical factor) and this, from 2nd to 5th grade. Overall, the results of this thesis suggest that agreement is not processed independently from some specific characteristics of the agreement's target

1 edition published in 2014 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

This work examine PTSD symptoms impact on cognition: attention, memory and executive functions to child, adolescent and adult. The first study, on attention, shows that child with sub-Clinical PTSD symptoms are characterized by attentional bias for negative and threat-Related stimuli. Adults have attentional impairment only for threat-Related information. Anxious symptoms leads to a generalization of attentional bias for child and adult. Inhibition, for PTSD child, present a deficit for threat-Related faces. This work shows that cognitive impairment on PTSD adolescents are irregular. During symptomatic phase, episodic memory, working memory and inhibition for threat-Related information are degraded. After therapy, cognitive impairment are more important: short-Term memory, working memory, episodic memory, treatment of information are distorted. Attentional bias for threat-Related stimuli and inhibition difficulties for anger and happy faces appear. Three month after, these impairment are not presented. Also, clinical and cognitive markers of chronic PTSD or relapse are found. Traumatic distress, residual symptoms, episodic memory or attentional impairment (attentional bias and inhibition) are identified as risk markers for PTSD. This work shows cognitive consequences of trauma in childhood and major function of co-Morbidity on these consequences
Contact de langues et alternance codique sängö-français à Bangui by Moussa Abdoulaye( )

1 edition published in 2016 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide
