1 edition published in 2007 in French and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

In France, there is a dance transmission at school which is made via a partnership between teachers and choreographic artists. The thesis suggests a participating observation of this original educational form which is the organised dance workshop in the school context. After having identified the characteristic educational situations of this transmission form, it tries to specify the different stakes - technical, aesthetic, ethical types - inherent to the interaction between artists and teachers as well as artists and children. The educational tools drawn from the repeated experience of the workshop, providing the best possible transposition of the choreographic experiential conditions, are targeted and related with quality criteria claimed by the different partners. The research work contributes in that way to the analysis of the professional process of this transmission form

3 editions published in 2005 in French and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The purpose of our study will be to look at the theological and spiritual thought of Guillaume de Saint-Thierry regarding this difficult question relating to the vision of the invisible God in relation with love of God. This will lead us to seek the different constructions of this desire to see God that one finds so often under the pen of Guillaume. We will look at the reasons of this desire to see God, its rootedness in the human heart, its effects on all its anthropological components and how this desire to see God may find an answer in the Guillaume's theology. The desire to see God may seem paradoxical since it has been taught Israelites that: "Man cannot see God and live" (Gen. 32, 31; Ex. 3, 6; 33, 20; Judg. 6, 22-23; 13, 22; 1 Kgs 19, 13; Isa. 6, 4). Is God not "a God who remains hidden" exclaimed himself the prophet Isaiah? (Isa. 45, 15). However, the psalms have many times evoked the deep aspiration which lives in Guillaume: to see the face of Lord (Ps. 23, 6; 26, 8-9; 27, 8, 105, 4 ...). Has Jacob not been moved by this hope by calling "Peniel" the place where he struggled with the angel, for he said, "I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared."? (Gen. 32, 20). Due to these contradictory texts, it seems that the question has not been answered, that is to say, is the vision of God solely kept for the next world or is that possible for us to hope here on earth to have a first taste of the vision to come? It is a central question in the Guillaume's theology which will lead us to follow him in his impulse, his dynamism, his enquiry relating to the mystery of the meeting between the humble creature and its God through the figurative sense of sight. The question would consist of knowing in which degree the meeting with Lord could be given during a certain form of vision. To do so, we must examine the different meanings given by Guillaume in his works regarding the subject of his desire: the vision of God, in connection simultaneously with his deep aspiration to be loved by God and to love God. Many authors interested in Guillaume sought to find the relation in his thought between love and understanding or between charity and intellectual knowledge (cf. our study about Amor ipse intellectus est, supra, Chapter III A 4. b). We will take up again this interrogation by seeking to understand better the link between the vision of God and the love on which Guillaume places the origin from the Trinitarian ("Trinitaire") doctrine. This question cannot be contemplated without doing one's best to interest oneself in the Guillaume's theology relating to the great topics structuring the spiritual life of the soul in search of a vision of God. This study will be divided in three parts. In the first part we will give the necessary biographical indications in order to follow Guillaume in his spiritual itinerary, in particular in his deep aspiration after the contemplation. His mystic quest of the God's face will be mainly studied through his works, for the different Guillaume's writings are at one and the same time an expression of his personal experience and a visible footstep of the evolution of his thought regarding this question about the vision of God here on earth and in the next world (cf. our study about "L'homme et son oeuvre", infra, Chapter I A). Through his writings, it appears that Guillaume was an educated and cultured man. He had a deep knowledge of the Holy Scripture and the Latin patristic works and, in a lower degree, the Greek patristic works. We will seek the influence of these different writings on the Guillaume's

2 editions published in 2006 in French and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

To determine the place of Jesus the Christ in the works of Chagall, we rely on a corpus of 365 artistic works with the motif of Christ crucified and different literary documents (such as letters, biography and poems). Among other things we refer to the different fields of the history of Art, Judaism (Shoah), and Christianity as well as the biblical exegesis. The first part specifies the critical and interpretative readings being influenced by the cultural and religious belonging of their author. The second part explores the different influences received by the artist from the cultural, artistic, ethnic, religious and historical point of view. It particularly focuses on the divergences between the Christian and Jewish communities concerning Jesus Christ. The third part puts forward the remarkable place of the motif of Christ crucified takes in an artist born of Judaism. It asks the question of the use of a Christian motif by a Jew. The fourth part introduces the place of the motif in the artist works, a place which is unknown, under-evaluated, and contested. A study of the topics and associated motives under the categories of “grotesque”, “report” and “deport” introduces the viewer to the path of a painter who discovers, appropriates and transcends a motif in Christian art. Consequently, the careful retrospective reading of the motif emphasizes the polysemic and pluri-religious side of the design which definitively makes a visionary of Chagall

1 edition published in 2008 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

1 edition published in 2005 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

2 editions published in 2005 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This research aimed at studying the mechanisms of toxicity of pollutants and their developmental effects. We chose Hydra attenuata as a model, because of its capacity of regeneration, which will be used to detect the disturbing properties and the developmental effects of chemicals. In addition, hydra had been already successfully employed to study teratogenicity of various substances (Johnson et al., 1982). We studied sensitivity in hydra towards 47 substances (endocrine disruptors, pharmaceutical products, pesticides, etc.). This first approach allowed us to bring to the fore the strong toxicity of NP in adult (LC50-9631 = 100 pg/Lkand in embryo (LOEC-96h =20 pg/L). NT is an endocrine disruptor (ED). This kind of pollutants are preoccupying because they affect the mechanisms of reproduction or development of animal and human populations. The toxicity degree and the environmental impact of the known ED are not completely elucidated, and it remains to identify the pollutants which would present these potentialities. In this context, the hydra seems to be an interesting model. (i) We showed that NP induced apoptosis in hydra exposed during a short period (lh) at lethal concentrations (ii) abnormalities in embryos exposed during 8d to low NI' concentrations, (iii) interest to extend the regeneration assay beyond 96h. In all cases, the results obtained demonstrated that hydra is a good model to study toxicity of the pollutant and 1 their developmental effects

2 editions published in 2003 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This philosophical thesis is deal with problematic of common political existence. The aim of this work is to propose a analysis of republican rationality to show it determines the conscience of citizens. The reflection is centre on republican universality to examine the effects it have on humanisation, particularely on human faculties. In a first time the autor show that universal politic act and the common conscience which accompagn it proceed by " desingularisation ". The problem of relations beetween subjectivity and objectivity is analysed. Effectively, universal political act put everybody in touch with everybody and objectivize every citizen including the relation to himself wich is now mediatized by the all political body. Phenomenological method is used to point out the caracteristics of republican rationality and the type of relation to other citizens it implics. From a phenomenological point of wiew, the autor wants to show political experience proceed by desingularisation and how individualities - consciences and bodis-, When aiming political objectities (republican), escape from empirical determinations and reach immaterality of political ideality (intimely connected with political body) which is universal and unifying

2 editions published in 2006 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

1 edition published in 2000 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Multimedia offer a new and complex semiotic potential that calls into question the former media's postulates. Such changes are due to a paradigmatic shift affecting the informational and communicational field as a whole. Artists exemplarily experience, and experiment upon them. The thesis focuses on the precise meeting-point between creation and multimedia and explores their intersection. The first part elaborates a theoretical frame to analyse multimedia creation. The second is based on eleven interviews with artists and theoreticians, and suggests a semio-pragmatic approach of ten artist's CD Roms. It thus isolates the idiosyncratic features of their multimedia writing to move on to outlining, in two successive syntheses, the structural, pragmatic and aesthetic orientations of multimedia writing as such

2 editions published in 2003 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The statistics in Lebanon is the center of interest of this work. One always notices in Lebanon enormous differences in the results of studies on the same topic from one research center to another. These hiatuses and ambiguities were at the origin of the choice of this dissertation topic. Indeed, the documentary and bibliografic research was insufficient in this domain because of the lack of statistical works-- an issue that required the realization of several interviews with statisticians, directors of research centers, and civil servants who are responsible of the statistical services in the public and private sectors. The work is divided into four main parts. This first part is a survey of the origins of statistics in the world and its evolution from civilizations until these days. In addition, it is about the usefulness and the stakes of statistics and its historic evolution in the developed and developing countries, and the origin of statistics and its evolution in Lebanon from the French mandate until the 1960's ans 70's

2 editions published in 2005 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Frankl's logotherapy is almost unknown in France. However, while taking as a starting point the metaphysical anthropology of Max Scheler and in phenomenology, Frankl has laid stress on the person, and following existentialists, on man's freedom, while being kept of any nihilism to the profit of what he himself called an tragic optimism. The problem is then to seek to determine up to what point, to have rested on Scheler, Frankl had not too much anchored its speech in an approach of the metaphysical type, called in question by the thoughts resulting from Heidegger's Destruktion of metaphysics (of which Derrida's deconstruction), and by structuralism, which could partly explain its lack of influence in France. Heidegger and Derrida have both the credit to point with accuracy the risks of closing to otherness, which is the vision of a Logos put in the same categories as real or rational, without possibility of play. In this direction ontological difference and Derrida's Différance open salutary prospects for a less dogmatic approach for thought, even if it is necessary to take guard to the ethical risk which this destruction of the Logos can involve : it is not true that " anything goes ", and there are many values which cannot be deconstructed. Connected with this question of logos and values, the question of the statute of religion and theological speech at Heidegger and Derrida is tackled lengthily, in comparison with the prospect for Frankl. Another aspect of Derrida's deconstruction is taked up, that of the setting ahead by Derrida of language's materiality, and the identification following Saussure of language and thought. This identification does not appear bearable any more. For this reason, the prospects opened by Husserl in its critic for psychologism remain always current, and Scheler's " theory of mind (spirit) " taken again by Frankl is perhaps not as null and void as one could it think, even if it does not go without raising a certain number of difficulties. Lastly, the thought of Frankl joined on many aspects the prospects which were those of a Henri Ey at the interface of psychiatry and phenomenology, like those of Paul Ricœur, which lets forecast a possibility of articulation between Frankl and the philosophical thought in French intellectual field

2 editions published in 2006 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The objective of this work was to study the effects of endocrine disrupting chernicals (EDCs) on brain and gonadal P45Oaromatase in fish in order to determine to which extent these genes or their products could be used as biomarkers of endocrine disruption in fish. We first developed methods to measure cypl9a and cypl9b mRNA and protein levels, as well as activity of brain and gonadal aromatase in zebrafish (Danio rerio). These methods allowed us to obtain relevant and original data on the expression of aromatases in this species. Next, we assessed the effects of several environmental pollutants and characterized the inhibitory potency of several pesticides using an in vitro assay based on brain and gonadal microsomal aromatase fiom rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Clotrimazole, an imidazole fùngicide used as a pharmaceutical, was found to be the most active substance among the tested pesticides. In vivo, we observed that various substances can perturb brain and gonadal aromatase and elicit tissue-specific responses. While androstadrienedione (a steroidal inhibitor of aromatase) inhibited aromatase activity in both brain and gonads without affecting cypl9 expression, the in vivo action of clotrimazole (characterized as an aromatase inhibitor in vitro) was more complex. The effects of this molecule differed depending on the target tissue and the concentration used for exposure. Moreover, the effects observed on the mRNA levels did not allow to predict the effects on the aromatase activity. Finally, we showed that some xenoestrogens are able to inhibit ovarian aromatase gene expression and at the same time to induce brain aromatase at the gene and protein level through an estrogen receptor (ER)-dependent mechanism. This demonstrates that measurement of cypl9b induction is a relevant biomarker of exposure to estrogenic compounds. Taken together, Our work provides new and relevant data concerning the effects and mechanisms of action of EDCs in fish, especially in female individuals. However, to determine the physiological and reproductive consequences of aromatase perturbation, M e r research is needed. Such knowledge is critical for establishing the use of these biomarkers in risk assessrnent of EDCs

2 editions published in 2004 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This research required to examine variables that influence the organizational efectiveness in local government services. The mayoralty was used the unity of analysis and 92 mayors and 236 directors in 109 municipalities in Portugal participated in this study. The latent variables mayor's extensive leadership (G), strategic oriented leadership (S) and risk predisposed leadership R, director's satifaction and commitment, trust and cooperation climate were operationalized using factor analysis. Through structural equations modeling the research revealed significant positive mediate relationship between : G and satifaction, G and cooperation, S and commitment, S and trust, R and satisfaction, satisfaction and commitment and commitment and trust. Signicant negative mediate relatinship was found between G and commitment ; and a one hand, between R and, on the other, trust and cooperation. Direct effects from trust to overall perceived effectiveness and to level of investments execution rate were found. Financial indicators were not found to be significantly explained by the model. Significant differences for mayors and directors were found in the relation between G and satisfaction, R and satisfaction, S end trust and commitment and trust. Mayoralties supported by right and left ideologies were found to have significantly different perceptions between R and cooperation. Also, significant differences for lower and upper economic level municipalities were found between R satifaction and between R and cooperation. Behavioral styles of mayor are proposed and analyzed their effectiveness. The model was specified for others factors of leadership as perceived by the directors

2 editions published in 2004 in French and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
