1 edition published in 2016 in French and held by 14 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

In the present study, we analyze all the novels of Didier van Cauwelaert, a writer from Nice, in aim to demonstrate the different aspects of his writing and their relation with his personality. Our thesis tries to find answers to many questions as: is the writing of DVC a writing of birth or of death? What are the particularities of his novels' universe? How do this universe and the writing take shape? What kind of space the novels constitute? This research is composed of three parts: the first, Cauwalaert's signature, studies the stylistic particularities of the writer. We develop his style, the piecemeal, playful, musical writing, and we show how he stylizes his texts by developing possible texts. We analyze also the psychocritic nucleus revealing his personal myth and we study the multiple sub-genres of his novels: the fantastic, comic and police ones. The second part is entitled the inter actions around the text. It envisages the relations uniting the writer to his texts, to the lector and to other writers. We ask the genesis of this fictional universe and the image of the writer through his novels. The third and last part, the massif of novels, aims the casting, the distribution of roles, the fiction and the form of narration. This part of the study envisages the diachronic progression of all the novels. We look into the evolution of the writer and his relationship with his time. Finally, we analyze the space of the novels that gives structure to a novel-space which is a universe of hope and emotion where the narrative instances melt and the perception creates a miniature world

1 edition published in 2018 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

In France, several controversies about the psychoanalytical cares of autism have resulted in a proposed law dated October 2016 forbidding all kind of psychoanalytical practices and obliging therapists to apply the ABA method as the preferential way of taking care of autism spectrum disorders. The aim of these thesis is to help align these divisions through the modelling of the therapeutic mediations based on a neuroscientific and psychoanalytical approach. We hypothesized that the symbolization processes (semantical and metaphorical recategorizations) supported by the transference relationship improve autism spectrum disorders through an increasingly complex elaboration of the Real. After having brought to light a Freudian epistemological break which causes the repression of the psychoanalysis' neuroscientific origins, we have reinitiated dialogue with neurosciences. Thus we have introduced the autism spectrum disorder as a neurodevelopmental locked-in syndrome caused by an unique adaptation of the neural network of the Ego (dynamic core) under crippling conditions caused by this neurodevelopmental disorder. The therapeutic mediations enable us to highlight the fact that the symbolization process in creative process depended on the simultaneous activation of neural network used by language and art, facilitating the synaptic strengthening between the representations of the two areas, what allows the patient to communicate his painful experience through an artistic/metaphorical language. The repeated expression of his experiences would allow reorganizing of the dynamic core of the Ego into a non-pathological way. Finally, five therapeutic mediations allow us to argue that it is possible to integrate the subjectivity into structured and theoretically motivated interventions, proposing a real means of evaluating their efficiency without affecting the quality of the care

1 edition published in 2017 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

The remittances of migrants attract the interest of international organizations which consider them a financial windfall for the development of countries of origin. They are also an object of study which occupies a central place in the scientific literature, especially in the field of economics. In this thesis, remittances are considered from a socio-anthropological perspective, putting into perspective the remittances of emigrants in relation to the process of individualisation at work in migratory situation and in African societies.Semi-directive interviews carried out in addition to classical and netnographic observations make it possible to highlight the meaning that the emigrants give to the individual and collective financial assistance they provide to their family, the different strategies employed by the emigrants to control the use of remittances, and their own interpretations of the standards of community redistribution

1 edition published in 2017 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

1 edition published in 2018 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

1 edition published in 2018 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

The Liguro-Provençal region extends from the Northern Apennines to the Rhone River and from the Southern Alps to the Mediterranean Sea. In this region, the emergence and the development of agro-pastoral subsistence economies, at the beginning of the VIth mill. BCE, led to changes in pre-existing forest cover and in interactions between societies and the landscapes they exploited. This work specifies the modalities of these transformations through charcoal analyses of remains from 6 well-documented archaeological sites that were occupied from the end of the Mesolithic (Castelnovian) to the late Neolithic (6500-2000 cal. BCE), including la Font-aux-Pigeons (Châteauneuf-les-Martigues, Bouches-du-Rhône), l'abri Pendimoun (Castellar, Alpes-Maritimes), « RD 560/RD 28 déviation de St-Maximin » and « le Clos de Roques/Route de Barjols » (Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, Var), la Grotte de Pertus II (Méailles, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), Ponteau (Martigues, Bouches-du-Rhône) and Limon-Raspail (Bédoin, Vaucluse). These sites occupied a variety of environments ranging from the coast to regions reaching 1000 m a.s.l, and include occupations that were temporary to sub-permanent. As a result, this research has filled previously existing chronological, geographical and settlement pattern lacunae. Examination of a broad corpus of charcoal and pollen data (78 botanical sequences from archaeological and natural contexts) permits us to propose nuanced scenarios on landscape evolution and its relation to practices carried out across the Liguro-Provençal region. While vegetation dynamics seem relatively synchronous across this zone, their translation in terms of landscape is more variable. During the Castelnovian and Impressa (6500-5600/5400 cal. BCE) periods, our study reveals the predominance of forest taxa such as deciduous oak (Quercus deciduous), elm (Ulmus sp.), lime (Tilia sp.) and the expansion of fir (Abies sp.), which supports the importance of dense, diversified and sub-mature forests, on a broad altitudinal gradient. Open landscapes (evergreen taxa and light-demanding conifers) also prevailed in the lowlands and at high altitudes. These open landscapes appear to have been more attractive for settlement than fir forests, maybe because they are more favourable for the main subsistence activities of both groups (hunting, farming, pastoralism). From the mediterranean to alpine stages, there was a discreet rise in plant-types that are more competitive to the opening up of the canopy, and a decrease of taxa that are more sensitive to open conditions as a response to the first anthropogenic disturbances of the forest cover, from as early as the second half of the VIth mill. BCE. This trend increased with time as forests opened up and were replaced by more disturbance-adapted formations that grew in the form of coppices. This process unfolded in parallel with the diversification of territorial exploitation (lowland to upland) and of its woody resources. However, despite concordance between the development of the staged exploitation of the environment and anthropogenic pressures related to the expansion of agro-pastoral systems, the maintenance of deciduous oak forests in the hinterland is attested by charcoal sequences from sites such as Limon-Raspail and Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume until the late Neolithic. Thus, over the course of the Neolithic, the anthropogenic opening of the forest cover probably unfolded in the form of increasingly widespread thinning but which remained limited in space. These landscape transformations are characterized by a decline of forest cover and by a decrease of their diversity on the one hand, and by the rise and the diversification of taxa related to open landscapes on the other hand, highlighting the contribution of Neolithic practices to the genesis of the current vegetal landscape

1 edition published in 2017 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

In the 16th century, Laredo was one of the most active harbours of the Cuatro Villas de la Costa de la Mar, the seabord of the present Cantabria Region in the North of Spain. This growth ceased at the end of the century when the harbour of Laredo plunged into a deep and irreversible economic crisis. How can we explain this reversal/this evolution? The geographical context was a major obstacle: movement of goods and people to the hinterland was difficult due to the Cantabrian mountain range, and the port infrastructures were particularly exposed to the whims of the sea.In the16th century Laredo inhabitants played an important role in the transport of wool from Castile to Flanders and in the import of fabric and goods. At that time, Laredo was a gateway for all these products, which were shipped afterwards to the main Castilian marketplaces. The constables of Castile contributed to the development of this traffic. In the late 1560s the rivalry with England and the rebellions in Flanders curbed this trading activity and the economy of Laredo gradually slumped. The 16th century was also for Laredo the time of the armadas. The harbour transformed into a naval base from which were sent soldiers, equipment and money in order to supply the troops who were fighting in Flanders. But, from 1572, Laredo stopped playing this role in favour of Santander which was an easier site to defend. The presence of the fleet was the cause of several conflicts with local people, but the organization of those armadas was for several people of Laredo a source of income when they supplied ships or when they made different repairs

1 edition published in 2020 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

1 edition published in 2019 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

The character of convict is omnipresent in French literature of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The representation of the world of hard labor in metropolitan and colonial prisons is at the crossroads of the broader representation of crime in the nineteenth century, according to a concomitant historical development with colonial expansion. The miscellaneous news, these little newsletters launched continually on the city, change the way of perceiving crime. Obeying a specific structure, this type of news will reshape the literary representation of crime. This is where the character of the convict comes in. Indeed, enjoying a special status (dead/alive/revenant), it offers novelists "conditions of possibility" unseen until then in the world of letters. Jean Valjean, Monte-Cristo and Chéri-Bibi, to name only the well known, have become models in what we can call the "novel of the convicts", literary (sub)-genre which develops in France from 1830 onwards. Thus, Valjean will give the archetype of the "innocent convict", the miraculous convert and the reincarnation of Jesus Christ. Monte-Cristo will be the Avenger par excellence, whose course will be the model of the genre - revenge being an inevitable topos of popular literature of the nineteenth century and until today. As for Chéri-Bibi, at the beginning of the twentieth century, embodies a turning point in the history of gender; it would be to the novel of the convict what Don Quixote was for the chivalric romance: a sum and a surpassing. The study we propose, oriented on the "genesis and structure" of the prison novel, is a reverse journey in history of this literary genre that does not say its name

1 edition published in 2020 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

When we observe a visual scene, we have access to a set of information, among which semantic and emotional contents have a key role in understanding and adapting to the physical and social environment. It has also been described that associations between the "local" (foreground objects) and "global" (context, background) content allow the observer to quickly categorize the scene. However, we have highlighted, in three critical reviews of the literature, that the interaction between semantic and emotional dimensions, during the categorization of the object and the context of a visual scene, have been largely neglected. We analyzed semantic and emotional processing, as well as their possible interactions, using the rapid visual presentation paradigm in a series of four studies. In each experiment, two images (an object and a context) quickly appeared outside foveal vision. Study 1 analyzed the semantic consistency effect, according to which categorization of the object and the context of a visual scene is superior when the images are presented in a semantically consistent situation (i.e., in a relationship that likely occurs in real life, such as a pig and a farm) rather than in an inconsistent situation (e.g., a pig and an iceberg). This study showed that the semantic associations between the object and the context act at the stage of matching between a percept and a long-term memory representation. Study 2 analyzed the relationships between semantic and emotional processing by proposing a semantic categorization task and an emotional categorization task of a neutral or an emotional (positive or negative) image. This image, either local (object) or global (context), was presented in a situation of semantic consistency or inconsistency and emotional consistency or inconsistency (i.e., carrying the same emotional content or not) with an image from the other level (object or context). This study suggested the existence of semantic and emotional processing regardless of the observer's task, and the presence of interactions between these processes that depend on the current constraints. In study 3, we analyzed the development of these processes in primary school-age children and replicated the results obtained in adults, with the exception of the effect of object-context semantic consistency, which thus seems to depend on the amount of life experience. Finally, study 4 analyzed semantic and emotional processing in children with Attention Deficit Disorder with or without Hyperactivity (ADHD), a condition to which deficits in recognition and management of emotions are frequently associated. This last study showed that emotional processing is preserved during rapid visual presentation, despite the lower semantic categorization performance in children with ADHD compared to the controls. These results suggested that the difficulties to process the emotions identified in ADHD do not depend on the initial gathering of information, but arise later, probably due to the attention deficit characterizing this disorder. Further research will need to explore whether this deficit depends on a lack of sustained attention or on difficulties in disengagement from emotional information. Overall, all these results allow us to describe a dynamic model of visual perception, in which semantic and emotional processes follow asynchronous developmental trajectories and the prioritization of one dimension of processing over the other is not pre-established, but varies according to the constraints related to the environment and the observer

1 edition published in 2016 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

1 edition published in 2019 in Italian and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

The early Neolithic of the western Mediterranean is represented by a polymorphic set of cultural expressions, traditionally defined by the presence of impressed wares, that developed during the sixth millennium BCE. By tracing the morphological and decorative variability of these ceramic productions, it was possible to outline a model of arrhythmic progression of the Neolithic package diffusion, from east to west, characterized by a continuous renewal of its techno-cultural components. Within this context, from the beginning of the sixth millennium BCE, Liguria is a particularly representative space of the social and cultural transformations that took place in the western Mediterranean and represents a privileged area for the untangling of the mechanisms of Neolithic diffusion in this area. This research focused on the technological analysis of ceramic production in order to decode the techno-economic systems of the Neolithic groups, through an integrated study, which was structured in two progressive and complementary levels, from infra-site to a regional scale.Recent excavations at the Arene Candide cave (1997-2012) documented in detail a clear stratigraphic sequence related to the early Neolithic phases, providing new and consistent proxy data. The technological analysis of the ceramic assemblage resulting from these researches allowed for the reconstruction of the pottery production system in relation to the stratigraphic and chronological articulation, highlighting an evolution of technical and stylistic behaviours during the sixth millennium BCE. This led to the elaboration of a diachronic model, articulated in different chrono-cultural horizons, each characterized by specific techno-stylistic markers. The systematic revision of the pottery from the contemporary sites of the region, mainly distributed between the Finalese region and Val Pennavaira, and often neglected due to their absent or unreliable contextual documentation, was also implemented. This revision allowed for the clarification of the chronological and cultural attribution of these ceramic sets, providing new elements for a diachronic reconstruction of settlement dynamics, as well as of the organization and management of the territory during the sixth millennium BCE, and finally revealed cultural interactions with the western Mediterranean basin. In general, the results obtained by this study increase, both quantitatively and qualitatively, the data relating to the early Neolithic stages of the region, unlocking the informative potential of a holistic approach to the analysis of the ceramic document, even when applied to remarkably fragmentary materials. These new results contribute to the ongoing debate on the complex phenomenon of the neolithization of the western Mediterranean

1 edition published in 2019 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

Our experience as a mathematics teacher has led us to explore a way that is still underused in Senegal, introducing a historical perspective into mathematics education, to check if it could interest students and motivate them to scientific studies. This thesis, which consists of seven chapters; the first five of which deal with the state of the art and the theoretical approaches. The last two describe and analyze the experimentation carried out in class of “Quatrième” at a College in the suburbs of Dakar.Chapter I is devoted on the one hand to the nature and specificity of mathematics to better understand the difficulties related to its teaching, and on the other hand to a review of the literature on the introduction of a historical perspective into teaching of mathematics, which clarified the use of history in the mathematics classroom. In this chapter are also defined the didactic framework of the thesis and the methodology used to carry out an experimentation in class of “Quatrième”.The context of our research was then detailed in Chapter II through a thorough description of the Senegalese educational system characterized by good results in the construction of classrooms and new scientific and technical blocks (BST), the parity index favorable to girls in primary school and high schools, but also by insufficiencies with the plethoric numbers of students, the weakness of the pedagogic supervision, the desertion of the scientific disciplines, the poor results in examinations certifications and external evaluations in mathematics. The presence of the History of Mathematics in curricula, textbooks and teacher training schemes is examined in Chapter III and compared to France, which has enormous potential in the field. These historical informations served as the subject for the didactic analysis proposed in Chapter IV, which also contains another input to the analysis: the illustrated description of the different types of use of the History of Mathematics. The didactic analysis inspired us in the development of a repertoire integrating the History of Mathematics, proposed to evolve the Senegalese programs.Chapter V, quizzes mathematics students and teachers, prior to the experiment, to collect and analyze their opinions and practices regarding the introduction of a historical perspective. The President of the National Commission of Mathematics (CNM) of Senegal is also put to contribution, through an interview, to give his opinion on the question and to bring us clarifications on some options of the program. The experimentation that we have done is discussed in Chapter VI and concerns six sessions in class of "Quatrième" which relate to the intersection of a circle and a line, the condition of existence of a triangle, the history of numbers, the equation modelling, the resolution of equations of the type ax + b = 0, and the theorem of Pythagoras. We have conceived their didactic engineering. They were then tested by a teacher in our presence. The sequences in the classroom were filmed and transcribed. The last chapter focuses on the analysis of experimentation, which was based on Chevallard's Anthropological Theory of Didactics (TAD) through praxeology and didactical moments to study students'tasks and filmed sequences. Barbin's three hypothetical arguments, namely replacement, disorientation, and cultural understanding, were also used in this chapter, along with the analysis of questionnaire responses and interviews submitted to students one year after the experiment, to measure positive effects of experimentation on students. The general conclusion provides information on the results of the experiment which are on the whole very promising in the framework of the improvement of the teaching lessons of the mathematics in Senegal despite the difficulties noted in the management of the time and related to the large number of students in the class where the experiment took place

1 edition published in 2021 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

The aim of this work is to provide a double translation into French and Italian of one of the most well-known texts in the Middle Ages, the Historia destructionis Troiae, written between 1272 and 1286 by Guido delle Colonne, a judge of Messina and a courteous poet. On the other hand, I analysed the work in order to understand the expressive techniques used by the author as well as the relationship with the literary sources and models: notably the Ephemeris belli Troiani by Dictys of Crete, the De excidio Troiae by Dares Phrygius, the Roman de Troie by Benoît de Saint-Maure - Guido's Historia seems almost a Latinization of the latter. Starting from the bibliographical data, the literary environment and the ideological bases, this work highlights Guido's desire to transform his text in Latin prose into a historiographic work, which ranges from the conquest of the golden fleece to the nostoi of Greek heroes, and was intended for an aristocratic and cultivated public. The use of rhetoric is evident: Latin is stylistically conditioned by ars dictaminis. Our research has shown the close relationship between the Historia destructions Troiae and Benoît's verse story, although Guido never mentions it. The Latin works of Dictys and Dares, which are also at the base of the Roman de Troie, are instead often cited by Guido as sources of considerable importance, even if the analysed data do not yet allow to determine if Guido was directly aware of these works or if he knew them by reading Roman. However, the Historia destructionis Troiae, compared to the sources, is enriched with moralizing digressions, poetic images and astronomical descriptions, with a multiplicity of characters and themes, with different narrative levels and textual references that make the work a great narrative fresco anticipating the Renaissance novel. Finally, the reflections on the destiny of man, on the precariousness of life, the search for an answer to the pain and madness of war, the feeling of justice with which the author always analyses events, not only reveal the depth of Guido, but also allow us to grasp a large margin of autonomy of the Historia destructionis Troiae with respect to the sources

1 edition published in 2018 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

Recent studies have shown that dance may be an appropriate and effective strategy for improving motor and non-motor symptoms, as well as quality of life on individuals with Parkinson's Disease (PD). Dance-Therapy through primitive expression (DTPE), as a mind-body therapy, may convey superior benefits, not only on physical areas but also on psychological and social ones. The main hypothesis is that Dance-Therapy will lead to greater gait and balance ability, an improved quality of life, will have psychological and social benefits and is an important component of a multidisciplinary approach to long-term management of PD.The first study, which lasted for two years, consisted of elaborating, observing and modifying the DTPE proposals in order to adapt them to the requirements of Parkinson's disease and to develop protocols of sessions in order to propose an innovative management of the disease. The second study, developed after a thorough literature review and which lasted seven months, made it possible to test the feasibility of such a study, to test a first main outcome (gait) and to evaluate the effects of the DTPE with the scales, which, after reviewing the studies on the subject, appeared to us to be the most relevant and well recognized in the medical community. The development of an original approach between Human and Social Sciences and Medicine can be used to feed the practices and care of patients by providing useful elements for the training of professionals and the organization of care. The thinking that has grounded the methodology of the studies developed in this thesis will contribute to fueling research and setting up new studies

1 edition published in 2017 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

This thesis aims at a better understanding of perseverance in the first year of higher education. Before and after this period, two series of semi-directive interviews were led with 47 individuals, built from the model of the integration of the student (Tinto, 1999) and the concept of studies types(Lahire, 1997). Their analyses, combining qualitative and quantitative methods, explain theprocesses related to perseverance by showing significant links with some pre-admission factors andthe majority of the student experiment factors. The results differentiate four types of perseverance, defined according to two criteria: the success / academic failure and perseverance in the samecourse / reorientation in another higher education institution

1 edition published in 2018 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

This thesis seeks to question the practice of a piano soloist)-)the interpreter of so-called “pure” or absolute music)-)drawing on several psychoanalytical reflections about music. In psychoanalysis, vocal or instrumental music is approached from the object of the “invocative impulse”)-)the voice. We perceive the “instrumental voice”, produced by the pianist and his or her instrument, as being a prosthesis of the singing human voice. We also draw on the notion of the “augmented human”, which first appeared in the 1990s, to form the hypothesis that music for piano is itself an augmented voice. The objective of the pianist is to be able to express him or herself through what we have termed the “prosthetic augmented voice”. To express him or herself through this “prosthetic augmented voice”, the pianist has to, first of all, transcend his or her own body. This is because the support of this voice is in fact his or her own body gestures

1 edition published in 2019 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

This thesis explores the novelistic work of Boris Vian from a stylistic perspective at the intersection of the linguistics of enunciation, pragmatics and textual linguistics. It focuses on the relations between the imaging potential of language and the Vianian creation of a fictional universe. It broadens the traditional perspective that conceives of fictionalization as putting reality in fiction by considering fictionalization as the creation of fiction. The corpus is restricted to one literary genre (novels) and one author. It includes the six novels written under the name Boris Vian (between 1942 and 1953). This choice is motivated by a willingness to characterize both the Vianian novelistic œuvre in its totality and the specificity of the evolution of the Vianian style. This study uses different analytical perspectives to understand the peculiarities of Vianian fiction and to highlight the style and aesthetics of the author in an original way. The study of the linguistic processes at play in Vianian fictionalization, which is at the center of this thesis, seeks to gradually observe the places in the text where fiction enters and exits, plays on words, and figures of speech. This research scrutinizes the recurring tools which allow going from the reader's world of reference to the world of fiction. The Vianian text often presents a world that baffles the reader because it constantly plays with various (linguistic or literary) norms. Hence the reader needs to “decode” that world to understand the new laws by which it abides. This dissertation therefore proposes a new analytical perspective to further our understanding of Vianian fiction

1 edition published in 2016 in French and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

This text deals with digital literacy at the French Post Office Company. As the firm worried about stress at work, a “Grand dialogue” was organized to estimate this level and take actions against it. At the same time, using this corporate communication, the company settled the “Lean management” to change the organization. On this occasion, that was an opportunity for a social worker to join a working group and study with an action-research the consequences for workers on their mental suffering.Besides after considering the links between psychological risks and digital literacy, he showed that it was not true for the postal workers. Indeed the actions that had been put in place in the company were effective help and much more, that the communication of organisations is a protection against psychological risks and social exclusion. However the action-research shows that the social workers were actually suffering from psychological risks and then they had set up strategies by using technologies to get better
Représentations de la nourriture dans la littérature italienne contemporaine : Matilde Serao, Natalia Ginzburg, Clara Sereni, Rossana Campo by Maria Grazia Scrimieri( )

1 edition published in 2019 in Italian and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide
