Gender and Organizational Citizenship Behavior of Information Technology Users in Poland and Germany by Alicja Keplinger( )

We examine the effect of gender and country (cultural and organizational differences) on the organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) of information technology (IT) users in Poland (transition economy) and Germany (developed economy). We investigate two dimensions of human capital: the OCB individually oriented (OCBI) and organizationally oriented (OCBO). The online random survey comprised 280 Polish respondents and 72 German respondents, in different regions of the two countries. Our findings show that effects of gender and country between Poland and Germany exist. In Germany employees more appreciate OCB than in Poland. However in both countries women - subordinates better evaluate supervisors OCB in comparison to men - subordinates. Women - supervisors evaluate worse subordinates OCB in comparison to men - supervisors. Our findings complement the gap in the stream of scientific knowledge on the relationship between gender, country and OCB in the group of IT users, in relation to Polish and German economies

To run CPS-engineering projects successfully CPS engineers of today need to possess both technical and social skills. The CPS engineers are increasingly required to have various technical skills because the products they design and construct are getting more complex having hardware, software and some kinds of communication mechanism with the surrounding world integrated in a single product. However, having technical skills solely is not enough since engineering projects mostly fail because of lacking social skills of project members. To be prepared for their future work as CPS engineers, students need to get an opportunity to gather some experience in projects in which they face realistic project situations. This work describes a novel task-centric holistic agile teaching approach for teaching CPS-engineering in realistic up-to-date industry-like scenario. This approach accentuates especially the development of social skills. We present the implementation of the approach and present the results of the students' feedback
