In our country, there clearly exists a significant discrepancy between the desire to die at home and reality. Lack of sharing of medical information, particularly of those involved in full-time care outside opening hours of doctor's practices, is an already proven factor thal could explain this observation. Why is there a failure to transfer medical data of patients treated in palliative home care by doctors? To answer this question, three focus groups were organised between March and April 2014 in Clennont l'Hérault, bringing together six GPs for each session. The discussions were recorded and transcribed verbatim. Finally, a thematic analysis of the data enabled to idenlify the determinants of this sharing of medical information among general practitioners. The results confirm that there exist still more barriers than motivations for communication of medical information about patients at the end of life. The lack of reliable means, the conviction of the possibility of being available, the priority given to Ihe anticipation with home care teams and the fear of losing control of the situation are the main identified limitations. However, GPs do not reject the idea of developing a tool for sharing information. Il would compensate for the unavailability of the doctor, facilitating the work of the full-time care. This would especially help the practitioner to clarify the palliative home care, to better anticipate acute situations with home care teams and to be protected on medico-Iegal level. Therefore, il seems an interesting solution to develop ways to facilitate this anticipation
