Skylab, classroom in space by United States( Book )

3 editions published in 1977 in English and held by 537 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The Skylab student project was designed and administered by the National Science Teachers Association. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration invited students in United States high schools to submit proposals for experiments that could be performed on board Skylab by the astronauts during their tours of duty. Experiments were designed to make the best possible use of the Skylab environment. The purpose of the student project was to encourage interest in science and engineering careers. Student experiments included studies of the central nervous system, cells in space, embryo development in space, weight and weightlessness, fluids in zero gravity, exploring the stars and planets, celestial objects in space, particle physics in space, and observing Earth from space. Science demonstrations included fluid behavior in zero gravity, mechanics, magnetic effects, particle physics, crystal growth, and life sciences
