"Extra-ordinary" ergonomics : how to accommodate small and big persons, the disabled and elderly, expectant mothers and children by K. H. E Kroemer( Book )

18 editions published between 2005 and 2019 in English and held by 467 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

""Extra-Ordinary" Ergonomics explores designing for population groups that do not meet the customary standards in age, size, and abilities. Underscoring the need for extraordinary ergonomics, the book illustrates various approaches to measuring the characteristics, capabilities, and limitations of those who differ from the norm. It provides the how-tos of designing for people who are smaller, weaker, or bigger, discusses specifically the design for persons with disabilities and the aging population, and covers human factors engineering for expectant mothers and ergonomics for children and teenagers. The author explains how to assess and determine abilities and needs and demonstrates how to design tools, homes, and environments to make working space safe and living space easy."--Jacket
Ergonomics : how to design for ease and efficiency by K. E Kroemer-Elbert( Book )

19 editions published between 1993 and 2003 in English and held by 458 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Kroemer focuses on human interaction with work tasks and technology and discusses ways to amplify human capabilities, utilize human abilities and facilitate human efficiency. The book is divided into four topical areas: Anatomical and Mechanical Structure of the Human Body; How the Body does its Work; How the Mind Deals with the Environment; and How the Body Interacts with the Environment
Anthropometry and biomechanics : theory and application by R. S Easterby( Book )

15 editions published between 1981 and 1982 in English and held by 330 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Assessment of the physical dimensions of the human body and application of this knowledge to the design of tools, equip ment, and work are certainly among the oldest arts and sciences. It would be an easy task if all anthropometric dimensions, of all people, would follow a general rule. Thus, philosophers and artists embedded their ideas about the most aesthetic proportions into ideal schemes of perfect proportions. "Golden sections" were developed in ancient India, China, Egypt, and Greece, and more recently by Leonardo DaVinci, or Albrecht Durer. However, such canons are fictive since actual human dimensions and proportions vary greatly among individuals. The different physical appearances often have been associated with mental, physiological and behavioral characteristics of the individuals. Hypocrates (about 460-377 BC) taught that there are four temperaments (actually, body fluids) represented by four body types. The psychiatrist Ernst Kretchmer (1888-1964) proposed that three typical somatotypes (pyknic, athletic, aesthenic) could reflect human character traits. Since the 1940's, W.H. Sheldon and his coworkers devised a system of three body physiques (endo-, meso-, ectomorphic). The classification was originally qualitative, and only recently has been developed to include actual measurements
Fitting the human : introduction to ergonomics by K. H. E Kroemer( Book )

Ergonomic design of material handling systems by K. H. E Kroemer( Book )

9 editions published between 1997 and 2017 in English and held by 232 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Ergonomic Design of Material Handling Systems describes how ergonomics can be applied specifically to load handling, both in the original design of systems and in their modification to make jobs easier and safer. Proven techniques (such as flow charting or job analysis) are combined with new considerations (such as biomechanics and repetitive trauma) to optimize facility, work station, equipment, and job procedures. This book shows how ergonomics overlaps and intertwines with traditional engineering and management, uniting them to produce ease and efficiency in material handling

11 editions published between 1965 and 1966 in German and English and held by 58 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Vorteilhaft sind all gemein annähernd gerade waagerechte Griffbahnen.

Bedienteile an Handpressen und anderen Werkzeugmaschinen by K. H. E Kroemer( Book )

6 editions published in 1963 in German and English and held by 31 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
