Rosemarie Trockel - Märzôschnee ûnd Wiebôrweh sand am Môargô niana më by Rosemarie Trockel( Book )

4 editions published in 2015 in German and English and held by 53 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

There are only a few artists like Rosemarie Trockel, whose works have always been able to retain their ambiguity in the face of great popularity. In a career spanning more than 30 years, encompassing such internationally renowned exhibition events as documenta (1997 and 2012) as well as the German Pavilion at the Venice Biennale (1999), and which has led the way to the world's major museums, the artist has succeeded in creating new work complexes, objects and images that are continually surprising. There had already been a great furor in the 1980s surrounding the reception of her wool works, machine knitted woolen fabrics attached to stretchers and then displayed as pictures. In a second group of works she assembled ordinary hotplates on shiny, white, enameled metal panels. Objects with gender specific connotations were again re-contextualized, as had already occurred in the knitted pictures. These abstract works mainly originate from the 1990s and were the ones that secured Trockel's place in the history of 20th century art. 0Exhibition: Kunsthaus Bregenz, Bregenz, Austria (24.01-06.04.2015)

2 editions published in 2016 in German and held by 32 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Mirrors and reflections, duplications and references: these are the guiding ideas behind the catalogue?Schaf und Ruder / Wool and Water,? which accompanies the exhibition of the same title at Kunsthalle Düsseldorf. The phrase quotes Lewis Carroll?s?Through the Looking-Glass? (1871), which follows Alice into a fascinating and surreal world of doubles and mirror images. Yet the fictional space raises concrete questions concerning our own likeness in the mirror and its interpretation as well as the fascination of the self in the virtual visual realm of the looking-glass. The show also explores our society?s image in the mirror and the cracks that have begun to appear in our vision of the human being. Numerous installation shots of works by internationally renowned artists are complemented by an essay in which the show?s curator and director of Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, Gregor Jansen, offers his own wide-ranging reflections.00Exhibition: Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, Germany (01.10. - 27.11.2016)

Rosemarie Trockel : Kaiserring award winner of the city of Goslar 2011 = Kaiserringträgerin der Stadt Goslar 2011 by Rosemarie Trockel( Book )

4 editions published in 2011 in German and held by 30 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Rosemarie Trockel (geb.
