The stechlin by Theodor Fontane( Book )

5 editions published in 1998 in German and held by 87 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The author pioneered the German novel of manners and upper-class society, following a trend in European fiction of the period. This is his last book and his political testament. It is set at the apex of the Wilhelmine era, both in Berlin and on the estate of a Prussian Junker on the shores of Lake Stechlin. It is a significant historical and cultural document, and portrays the best in the life and ways of the passing Prussian aristocracy, while describing his hopes for the future of Germany and its nobility
Das Erdbeben in Chili by Heinrich von Kleist( Book )

15 editions published between 1989 and 1993 in German and held by 83 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Bataille d'Arminius = Hermannsschlacht by Heinrich von Kleist( Book )

11 editions published in 2001 in German and held by 77 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The Marquise of O- by Heinrich von Kleist( Book )

7 editions published in 1989 in German and held by 67 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"A young Marquise, caught in mortal danger in the midst of a furious battle, falls into a deep swoon. She comes round moments later, however, safe within her castle and apparently unharmed, and is able to resume her life in gratitude and complacency. So when, weeks later, she is alarmed by strange periods of faintness and indisposition, the solution that suggests itself seems entirely irrational. How could the widowed young Marquise be pregnant? And what will her parents say?" "Imbued with subtle comic moments and lashed by the passionate outbursts of anger and love experienced by characters caught in a bizarre and unpredictable chain of events, The Marquise of O- is a truly Kleistian twist on the long tradition of sexual drama. Its companion pieces, The Earthquake in Chile and The Foundling, are darker and more uncompromising in flavour, demonstrating, in their flashes of horror and injustice, the full range of Kleist's art."--Jacket
Die Verlobung in St. Domingo = Fiancailles à Saint-Domingue ; Der Findling =L'enfant trouvé by Heinrich von Kleist( Book )

9 editions published between 1988 and 1990 in German and held by 66 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Amphitryon; a comedy by Heinrich von Kleist( Book )

7 editions published in 1991 in German and held by 53 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
