Enlightened Rainbows : the life and works of Shardza Tashi Gyeltsen by Jean-Luc Achard( )

18 editions published in 2008 in English and held by 1,519 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Shardza Tashi Gyeltsen (1859-1934) is one or the most important luminaries of the Bon tradition of Tibet and certainly the most striking recent master of the teaching of the Great Perfection. Throughout his life, he applied the principles of the Great Perfection in numerous isolated retreats and perfected both spiritual realization and scholarly erudition. His works have nowadays become immensely important references for the modern Bon tradition, even if, for some lineage holders of this Tibetan school, he is best associated with the movement known as "New Bon". This widely diffused view, however, is wrong as is clearly shown by the analysis of Shardza Rinpoche's Collected Works in the present volume."--Jacket

Esteemed Tibetologist Jean-Luc Achard contextualizes and provides a clear translation of highly secret precepts on Dzogchen practice unlike anything published. TheInstructions on the Six Lampsis a profound and important work from the BOn Dzogchen tradition and is one of the root texts of theZhangzhung NyengyU(Oral Transmission of Zhangzhung) series of orally transmitted teachings. Considered to be the central work of the inner cycle of these teachings, it expertly details the principles of the natural state and its visionary marvels. The root text describes highly secret precepts ofDzogchen (Great Perfection) practice-the teachings of TrekchO and ThOgel-as revealed by Tapihritsa to Gyerpung Nangzher LOpo. The teachings in this text represent oral instructions transmitted by a single master to a single disciple in the mode known as "single transmission."It is through such a practice that one can see the clear light of one's own mind before achieving complete Buddhahood. In this respect, the text contains a complete teaching of Dzogchen, from beginning to end

10 editions published between 1997 and 2000 in French and held by 49 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

L'Essence Perlée du Secret by Jean-Luc Achard( )

1 edition published in 1999 in English and held by 5 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
