Combination of CDF and D0 results on the mass of the top quark( )

We summarize the top-quark mass measurements from the CDF and D0 experiments at Fermilab. We combine published Run-I (1992-1996) measurements with the most recent preliminary Run-II (2001-present) measurements using up to 750 pb{sup -1} of data. Taking correlated uncertainties properly into account the resulting preliminary world average mass of the top quark is M{sub t} = 172.5 {+-} 1.3(stat) {+-} 1.9(syst) GeV/c{sup 2}, which corresponds to a total uncertainty of 2.3 GeV/c{sup 2}. The top-quark mass is now known with a precision of 1.3%--a 20% improvement relative to the previous combination

Measurement of the differential gamma+2b-jet cross section and the ration sigma(gamma+2b-jets)/sigma(gamma plus b-jet) in p(p)over-bar collisions at root s=1.96 TeV by V. M Abazov( )

We present the first measurements of the differential cross section d sigma/dp(T)(gamma) for the production of an isolated photon in association with at least two b-quark jets. The measurements consider photons with rapidities vertical bar y(gamma)vertical bar <1.0 and transverse momenta 30 <p(T)(gamma) <200 GeV. The b-quark jets are required to have p(T)(jet)> 15 GeVand vertical bar y(jet)vertical bar <1.5. The ratio of differential production cross sections for gamma + 2 b-jets to gamma + b-jet as a function of p(T)(gamma) is also presented. The results are based on the proton-antiproton collision data at root s = 1.96 TeV collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The measured cross sections and their ratios are compared to the next- to- leading order perturbative QCD calculations as well as predictions based on the k(T)- factorization approach and those from the sherpa and pythia Monte Carlo event generators
Measurement of direct CP violation parameters in B-+/- -] J/psi K-+/- and B-+/- -] J/psi pi(+/- ) decays with 10.4 fb( -1) of Tevatron data by V. M Abazov( )

We present a measurement of the direct CP-violating charge asymmetry in B-+/- mesons decaying to J/psi K-+/- and J/psi pi(+/- ) where J/psi decays to mu(+)mu( - ), using the full run II data set of 10.4 fb( -1) of proton-antiproton collisions collected using the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. A difference in the yield of B- and B+ mesons in these decays is found by fitting to the difference between their reconstructed invariant mass distributions resulting in asymmetries of A(J/psi K) = [0.59 +/- 0.37]%, which is the most precise measurement to date, and A(J/psi pi) = [-4.2 +/- 4.5]%. Both measurements are consistent with standard model predictions

We present a study of the X-+/-(5568) using semileptonic decays of the B-s(0) meson using the full run II integrated luminosity of 10.4 fb(-1) in proton-antiproton collisions at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV collected with the DO detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We report evidence for a narrow structure, X-+/-(5568), in the decay sequence X-+/-(5568) -> B-s(0) pi(+/-) where B-s(0)-> mu(-/+) (DsX)-X-+/-, D-s(+/-)-> phi pi(+/-)which is consistent with the previous measurement by the DO Collaboration in the hadronic decay mode, X-+/-(5568) -> B-s(0)pi(+/-) where B-s(0 )-> J/psi phi. The mass and width of this state are measured using a combined fit of the hadronic and semileptonic data, yielding m = 5566.9(-3.1)(+3.2)(stat)(-1.2)(+0.6)(syst) MeV/c(2), Gamma = 18.6(-6.1)(+7.9)(stat)(-3.8)(+3.5) (syst) McV/c(2) with a significance of 6.7 sigma

This Letter describes measurements of inclusive W ( -> ev) + n jet cross sections (n = 1-4), presented as total inclusive cross sections and differentially in the nth jet transverse momentum. The measurements are made using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.2 fb( -1) collected by the DO detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, and achieve considerably smaller uncertainties on W + jets production cross sections than previous measurements. The measurements are compared to next-to-leading order perturbative QCD (pQCD) calculations in the n = 1-3 jet multiplicity bins and to leading order pQCD calculations in the 4-jet bin. The measurements are generally in agreement with pQCD calculations, although certain regions of phase space are identified where these predictions could better match the data
