Supplementation of alfa linolenic (ALK), eicosapentaenoic (EPK), and docosahexaenoic (DHK) fatty acids (FA) to the diet of goats and its effect on milk composition, and fat content of goat milk, as well as its effect on the somatic cell count was studied. The studies included 62 goats, from 28 to 105 days after lambing. After the ten-day adaptation period, during which each milking was recorded, the animals were divided into four groups, the fourth was the control group. The other three groups were fed the EPK, ALK and DHK supplemented diet (20g/day) in the five successive days, until the end of experiment. After the 5 day supplementation period, milk yield of each milking was recorded in the next five days, and later, measurements of two milkings were taken every fifth day. Samples of all recorded measurements, andeach animal, were analysed for milk composition, somatic cell (SC) count and the number of microorganisms. The second sample of each milking and each animal was taken for FA content analysis. It has been established that the supplementation of ALK over the short period of time decreased the SC count. Statistically significant decrease lasted 29 days after the fifth supplementation of 20 g/day ALK. In the group ALFA with added ALK, the fat content percentage increased from 3.0 to 3.4 during FA supplementation. In thegroup with added EPK (group EPA), as well as in the group with added DHK (group DHA) the percentage decreased from 3.10 to 2.40. The added EPK and DHK had a negative effect on the milk fat percentage during the supplementation and 20 days afterwards. Furthermore, the addition of ALK also had a better effect on protein content, compared to the other FA additions. FA content was analysed as well , from C 10:0 to C 22:4v n-9 for five animals of each group and for each milking from the sixth to the thirty-ninth day of the experiment. We concluded that the supplementation of separate FA to goat diet does effect the FA composition of lipids in goat milk. Depending on the type of added FA, the effects appeared differently during the supplementation and at different times after the supplementation. The passage rate of supplemented FA to milk was from 14 to 21 %. The addition of omega-3 FA decreased middle chain FA (from 55 to 45 %), and monounsaturated FA (from 24 to 22 %) in goat milk, but increased poliunsaturated FA (VNMK) from 4 to 14 %.The n-3 : n-6 rate was 1:3.5 on the beginning, during the FA supplementing phase was reduction to 1:1 in group EPA, ALFA and DHA

V raziskavi na mladih rastočih prašičih smo proučevali, kaj je s stališča oksidacijskega stresa bolj škodljivo: obrok z mastnim mesom ali obrok brez sadja in zelenjave. 48 kastratov križancev, težkih 11 kg, smo uhlevili v kletke, ki omogočajo ločeno zbiranje seča in jih krmili s krmo, ki je zagotavljala 2,3-kratno kritje vzdrževalnih potreb. Živali smo razdelili v šest skupin: Pripor (uravnotežen obrok s pustim mesom, sadjem in zelenjavo), -SadZel (kot Pripor, le da smo sadje in zelenjavo zamenjali s škrobom), +Mašč (kot Pripor, le da smo pusto meso in del škroba zamenjali z mastnim mesom), Mašč-SadZel (kot Pripor, le da smo pusto meso, sadje in zelenjavo izokalorično zamenjali z mastnim mesom), +Meso (kot Pripor, le da je vseboval dvojno količino priporočenega pustega mesa) in Veg (kot Pripor, le da smo pusto meso izokalorično in izobeljakovinsko zamenjali s sojinimi tropinami). Poskusno obdobje je trajalo 22 dni. Stopnjo oksidacijskega stresa in koncentracijo lipidov v krvi smo ovrednotili na začetku in na koncu poskusa z meritvami koncentracije malonsialdehida (MDA) v krvni plazmi in količine dnevno s sečem izločenega MDA, stopnje poškodb DNA levkocitov (kometni test), koncentracije tokoferolov v krvni plazmi, koncentracije glutation peroksidaze (GPx) v krvi in skupne akntioksidativne kapacitete krvne plazme (TAS). Rezultati kažejo, da zamenjava pustega mesa z mastnim mesom v obroku s priporočeno količino sadja in zelenjave oksidacijskega stresa ne poveča zelo očitno. Obrok brez sadja in zelenjave zelo negativno vpliva na oksidacijski stres organizma. Zauživanje mastnega mesa poveča koncentracijo skupnega holesterola in triacilglicerolov ter poveča koncentracijo HDL holesterola v krvnem serumu. Dvojna priporočena količina pustega mesa nima negativnih vplivov na oksidacijski stres. Rezultati raziskave tako kažejo, da je zamenjava pustega mesa z mastnim mesom v sicer uravnoteženem obroku z vidika oksidacijskega stresa veliko manj vprašljiva kot obrok brez sadja in zelenjave ter da zauživanje dvakratne količine pustega mesa z vidika oksidacijskega stresa v obroku z dovolj sadja in zelenjave ni nevarno. Rezultati potrjujejo nenadomestljivost sadja in zelenjave za doseganje uravnoteženega obroka
